Considering the fact that environmental conservation is a global issue, it seems only logical that a project such as The Greenkey initiative should function on a global scale. By allowing participants to explore and address important issues throughout different geographic regions and communities, they are able to obtain an accurate overview while presenting relevant and thoughtful commentary through their work. The project runs in five year cycles during which each continent is visited by a carefully curated team. While on location artists learn about the dilemmas that the indigenous / rural communities in the region are facing and work with local partners or organizations to assist through creative collaborations. To close each cycle, a comprehensive exhibition is mounted to raise awareness, generate positive change and encourage responsible lifestyle choices within modernized urban communities.
